Leadership Florida is Ready for a New YearCongratulations to David Armstrong, president of Broward College, who was elected by Leadership Florida as its chair for the 2013-2014! He is a member of Class XVIII and has served our organization in a number of capacities since 2000. He is the first chair from Broward County in Leadership Florida’s thirty-one year history.
“It is an honor to serve as chairman of an organization that recognizes the strength that comes from our state’s strong and vibrant diversity, and builds upon that strength by educating, inspiring and engaging Florida’s leaders,” said Armstrong. I’m particularly pleased that twice during the upcoming year, Leadership Florida will bring top leaders from throughout the state to Ft. Lauderdale, providing us with an opportunity to showcase our community’s incredibly resources, talent, and opportunities.”
The Annual Meeting was a HUGE success! We had well over 500 members and their guests register for the event. Participants were treated to a fabulous opening reception hosted by Walt Disney World, along with park tickets! Sessions included discussions about the environment, health care, education, the Governor’s plans for the state, leadership, the economy…just to name a few. It was great to see so many familiar faces. We will have photos on the Annual Meeting page soon!
