Mac Martin Awarded Land Broker of the Year
Mac Martin, Accredited Land Consultant (ALC), a graduate of Cornerstone Class 22, has been awarded the Land Broker of the Year 2019 by the Realtors Land Institute Florida Chapter of Accredited Land Consultants. Martin was selected in recognition of his dedication to the industry, his consistent record of top production, good character, ethics, and professionalism.
Martin first earned a real estate license in the late 1980s, while working for large, agricultural corporations including Ben Hill Griffin, Inc. and Peace River Citrus Products. In the year 2000, he purchased and relaunched a small brokerage in Arcadia. There he began his real estate career. Martin quickly demonstrated leadership by serving as the President of the DeSoto County Board of Realtors and as President of the local Chamber of Commerce.
Martin has been integral in many transactions that have impacted the central and southwest Florida regions. In the early 2000s, he was a leader in the site selection of the Walmart Distribution Center in DeSoto County (one of the county’s largest employers). He has been a “go-to” broker and expert on citrus and cattle operations and agricultural land sales. He has also been recognized as an expert on the subject of land use and zoning. Presently, Martin serves on the Board of Directors of Realtors for Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, North Port, DeSoto. He is immediate past Vice President of the Realtor’s Land Institute, Florida Chapter.
Martin maintained his business and grown his influence through the Great Recession and the national housing crisis. In 2018, Martin and his team undertook a rebrand and joined the national franchise network of United Country. Martin currently leads United Country’s southernmost operator in the United States: Gulfland Real Estate. Since his launch of United Country|Gulfland, Martin and his ever-growing team have continued to be top producers, having been awarded United Country’s Pinnacle Award and the Platinum Award in 2018 and 2019 from the Realtors of Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, North Port, and DeSoto.
Martin is 4th generation of Arcadia, Florida, and a graduate of the University of Florida. He and his wife of 30+ years have two sons, both raised in Arcadia. He is an avid supporter of the arts, being a musician and having founded the DeSoto Art Center (501c3) and opening the Martin Art Gallery which is recognized for bringing top artists from around the country to present their works.
