Biography
Bethany serves as the Executive Director for Academic Operations at Florida Atlantic University’s Jupiter campus, where she advances the university’s mission as a top-performing ‘Opportunity Institution’—an official designation by Carnegie Higher-Ed Classifications—and helps shape an internationally recognized hub for neuroscience and life science research. A highly accomplished neurogeneticist with 24 scientific publications, she brings research expertise and operational leadership to initiatives that grow Florida’s scientific workforce and innovation economy.
She leads transformative programs that expand research training, secured multimillion-dollar grants, and attracted strategic industry partnerships. Bethany also serves in a regional leadership role with BioFlorida, helping elevate the state’s life sciences ecosystem through collaboration, talent development, and public-private partnerships.
A first-generation college student from Iowa, Bethany earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and her Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. She came to Florida in 2015 for a postdoctoral fellowship at FAU—and has since settled into the SoFlo life. Outside of work, she is an avid dancer, international traveler, and enjoys outdoor adventures with her dog, Milo.
