Biography
Dr. Danielle Brewer began her career with Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) in 2005 and now serves as Interim Superintendent. Before this role, she was Senior Executive Director of High Schools and Secondary Curriculum, overseeing 21 schools, supervising nine principals, and contributing to improved graduation rates across the district. Her leadership path has included service as teacher, academic coach, dean, assistant principal, and principal—most recently at North Marion High School. In 2021, she was named Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Digital Learning, and in 2023 was promoted to executive leadership.
Dr. Brewer earned degrees in Criminal Justice and Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. She also holds an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from National Louis University, where her doctoral research explored how advanced academic programs can disrupt cycles of poverty and expand postsecondary success.
Her commitment to education is deeply personal. Entering foster care as a child after abuse, she and her twin sister faced cryptophasia and years of speech therapy. These experiences fuel her dedication to supporting students facing adversity, particularly those in poverty. A strong advocate for Career and Technical Education, she champions opportunities that prepare all learners for success in college and careers.
Dr. Brewer and her husband, Jeff, are proud parents of four MCPS graduates, all of whom pursued academic and career technical programs in Florida.
