Biography
With over 30 years’ experience, Greer Johnson Gillis is an innovative transportation executive who has a stellar reputation for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects and advocating for women within the organizations she has led. Greer currently serves as SVP / Chief Infrastructure & Development Officer for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), for all the strategic initiatives and the capital program which has direct impact on peoples’ mobility in the city. She relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to be near her family after spending over 20 years in Washington, DC, working in the private sector and for local city government. Greer holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in Washington, DC, and Virginia. She lives in Clay County, FL with her husband of 25 years, Robert, her mother-in-law Barbara, and two rescue dogs, Maui and Malo. She also lives near an extended family – her sister, sister-in-law, eight nieces and nephews, and eight grand-nieces and nephews.
