Biography
Dr. Jen Halter is the Director of Secondary Curriculum for Alachua County Public Schools, where she works alongside school and district leaders to strengthen teaching, learning, and student achievement across secondary schools. With more than 21 years in public education, she has served as a teacher, instructional leader, assistant principal, principal, and district leader, building a reputation for creating high-performing schools through a culture of excellence, relationships, and continuous improvement.
Prior to her district leadership role, Dr. Halter served as principal of Clay High School, leading the school from a "C" school to an "A" school while achieving record academic growth and expanding opportunities for students. She previously served as principal of Green Cove Springs Junior High, where she also led significant gains in student achievement and school culture. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to developing teachers, empowering leaders, and ensuring every student has access to high-quality learning experiences.
Dr. Halter earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida. She is a Maxwell Leadership Certified Speaker, Coach, Trainer, and DISC Consultant and is the founder of Driven Leadership Success, where she provides keynote presentations, leadership coaching, professional learning, DISC consulting, and mastermind groups for educators and organizations.
A recognized leader at the state and national levels, Dr. Halter was named the 2021 Florida Principal of the Year and has served in numerous leadership roles, including NASSP Ambassador, Northeast Regional Director for the Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA), Chair of the FASA Legislative Committee, Leadership Florida Education Class 6, and President of the Florida Association of Secondary School Principals.
