Biography
Karen Dearden is the State Director of Government Affairs for AT&T Florida, leading legislative initiatives and statewide disaster response efforts. With over 15 years of experience in Florida’s public policy and communications landscape, she has held senior roles in the Departments of Business and Professional Regulation, Commerce, and Transportation. Karen previously staffed Governor Rick Scott and played a key role on the Florida House 2022 Redistricting Team.
She is a past Chair of the Board for the Ronald McDonald House of Tallahassee and a member of Leadership Tallahassee. Karen also serves as a patient advocate for Moffitt Cancer Center, drawing from her personal experience as a breast and thyroid cancer survivor. After spending a decade as a stay-at-home mom raising three children, she brings a deep commitment to service and resilience to both her professional and personal life.
Karen enjoys teaching indoor cycling at her local gym, golfing and traveling with her husband, Bob Dearden, Chief Financial and Operations Officer of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.
