Biography
Kasey, a proud Floridian, graduated from Okeechobee High School and was the first in her family to complete college. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indian River State College and has devoted the past 12 years to students in Okeechobee County Schools.
Kasey was named the 2024 Okeechobee District Teacher of the Year and has served as the science department head and class sponsor. She has taught biology, integrated sciences and AVID and has made significant contributions as the Heartland Consortium’s lead STEAM coordinator. She continues to grow as an educator through her connections in the Teacher of the Year LEAD Network and is now set to embark on a new journey, teaching middle school science in Glades County schools.
Kasey is happily married and fills her bonus time with live music of varying genres, traveling with friends, and frequent Disney trips with her daughters, Lillian and Kimber.
