Biography
Kurt is an experienced executive coach and author. In addition to his book Frontline Heroes, his articles have appeared in On Scene, Firehouse, Fire Engineering, Florida Fire Service magazines, and more. His primary focus over the last 25 years has been helping create a culture of excellence.
Kurt has been in career and volunteer departments, advancing to fire chief in both. He was the recipient of Florida Fire Instructor of the Year in 2006, the first time someone from Northwest Florida had been presented such an award.
When Escambia County Schools had a gap that needed filling, Kurt stepped in to help keep the program afloat for the short term. That led to building a program in the school’s career academies. As a highly regarded speaker and lecturer, he has presented educational programs to organizations around the world. From his travels, he has been able to bring a wealth of material to inspire and motivate his audiences beyond what they see as their own limitations.
