Biography
Michelle’s current role entails direction and oversight of high-risk compliance issues, regulatory reviews, risk assessment of policies and procedures, training and education, and cooperation with federal government agencies. Her previous leadership experiences include healthcare operations management, community outreach, and program development for non-profit federally funded programs. She also served ten years in higher education in various roles, including recruiter, advisor, and administrator.
Michelle is a Florida native, born in St. Petersburg to two Caribbean immigrants. She is also a member of the Florida Hospital Association and a dedicated volunteer at The Skills Center – a grassroots community organization for youth sports and educational development.
With an innate passion for learning, she excelled in academics to become a first-generation college graduate, earning a bachelor’s and master's degree from the University of South Florida in the fields of sociology and public health - community and family health.
Michelle and her husband, Caz, have two children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with family.
