Biography
Monica has a ten-year record of accomplishment driving measurable student success through top-quality classroom instruction and visionary support for teachers. She is an aspiring administrator who hopes to serve as a school leader who develops global citizens and lifelong learners who can adapt and thrive in today’s world.
In 2021, she was recognized as the Monroe County District Teacher of the Year. She went on to represent her county at the Florida Teacher of the Year Roundtable and participate in and graduate from the Florida Teacher Lead Network. She is a community-minded leader with extensive service on teams, committees, and boards throughout her local community.
Monica has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in teaching from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also has a master’s in educational leadership from the American College of Education. She resides with her husband in Islamorada, Florida, in the beautiful Florida Keys, where she enjoys spending time on the water, reading, and serving her community.
