Biography
Dr. Ryan C. Holmes is Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at the University of Miami (FL). Dr. Holmes’ areas of oversight include student conduct, Greek life, student crisis, alcohol and other drug education, veterans’ services, and the chaplain’s association. Dr. Holmes presents and has publications on social justice, conflict resolution, student conduct, and diversity/equity/inclusion. Dr. Holmes consults nationally and internationally, and has hosted numerous webinars and trainings. Dr. Holmes is also a past president of the Association for Student Conduct Administration.
Dr. Holmes completed a BME from Loyola University – New Orleans in Music Education, a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland-College Park, a second masters in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies from La Salle University and his doctorate (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso. Dr. Holmes is from Shreveport, LA, has two children, has one US State (Hawaii) and two continents (Antarctica and South America) left to visit, and yearns to experience more in Florida.
