Biography
Shelita started McGowan Spinal Rehabilitation Center in 2006, concentrating on providing essential chiropractic healthcare to the urban community of Jacksonville. Her office has treated over 18,000 patients to date.
She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Grambling State University and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University. She is the supervisor for 18 full-time staffed employees, including chiropractors, medical physicians, nurses, and medical assistants.
She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Jack and Jill of America, and the Jacksonville Chapter of the Links. She serves on the Board of Governors for the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Florida, Children's Home Society Board and The Friends of the Brentwood Library Board. She has assisted with initiatives to increase these organizations’ community engagement and helped with several successful events to raise money and bring awareness to the organizations that she is honored to serve.
