Biography
Dr. Sherry Hartnett is a highly respected leader, professor, consultant, mentor, and author.

She entered the world of academia after a successful business career as a senior-level
executive. In August 2023, the President of UWF appointed Sherry to work for her directly to create and lead a new UWF Office of Workforce Development.

Dr. Hartnett is coauthor, with Bert Thornton, of High Impact Mentoring: A Practical Guide to Creating Value in Other People's Lives. The book includes keen insights on how to be a great mentor and shares a step-by-step framework that instructs organization leaders on installing and scaling up a successfully structured mentoring program. And she founded Hartnett Group, a consultancy specializing in mentoring and leadership development.

Before joining UWF, Dr. Hartnett was Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Baptist Health Care. Earlier in her career, she was a marketing executive for one of the Top 10 global news media companies and led marketing research for a national advertising agency.
Sherry has received numerous national awards and honors for excellence in marketing, leadership, and mentoring and prestigious faculty excellence in teaching awards. Leadership Florida recently recognized Dr. Hartnett with the state-wide "but for Leadership Florida" Award for her leadership in improving the lives of fellow Floridians. As an active leader in business, civic, and charitable communities, Sherry has served on numerous national and local boards of directors.

Sherry has a Doctorate in Business from Georgia State University, a Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University in Management, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University in Marketing.
