Biography
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee holding the spirit of the motto of the state, the Volunteer State, I have always had an energy for being present in the community. Currently work at the United Way Miami as the Director, Community Impact leading the efforts in the area of education. The work involves deep research and community involvement, strategic planning, investments, and implementing strategies to positively influence the education system and youth.
Involved in several affinity groups, such as United Way's Women United, Young Leaders, Together for Children, Miami-Dade County Public School's Family and Community Involvement Advisory Committee, and PS 305.
Prior to coming to Miami, I was a Program Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida in two of the most underserved communities in Orlando (Carver Shores and Pine Hills). I was able to not only develop and implement quality programming, but it gave me the opportunity to work in neighborhood coalitions to strengthen families.
I have two daughters, Parker and Peyton and love Black American history.
