You will not want to miss this "but for" Leadership Florida trip to Kentucky to experience a sample of the equestrian life and tour local bourbon distilleries. Review the agenda for specifics. This trip includes your hotel stay, a group networking reception where we will invite Leadership Kentucky members to join us, a group dinner one evening, lunch with local a flare one day, experience horse racing at the famous Keeneland horse center, visit a horse farm, tour three of the world’s top bourbon distilleries, visit and tour the famous Churchill Downs. All transportation to all events is included via tour bus.
You have a choice of hotel rooms for either the Lexington Marriott City Center or the adjoining Residence Inn Lexington City Center. Choose your hotel when you register for the trip.
The choices are:
- King rooms only available at The Residence Inn Lexington City Center and includes breakfast.
- Double rooms with two queen beds only available at The Lexington Marriott City Center. Breakfast is not included at the Marriott.
Ticket prices include hotel stay, all events, tours, and excursions listed on the agenda, ground transportation to all events, and some meals. Airfare/travel not included.
Itinerary times and events subject to change. If any event change occurs, it will be replaced with a similar experience.
In the evenings, there will be an opportunity to continue the fun with Bourbon tastings in a hospitality suite within the host hotel.

Please note that the bus will leave from the hotel at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 23 for the first event. If it is difficult to arrive in Lexington in time for this tour, you can choose a five-night stay package when you register for this trip.

Distillery Tour & Opening Reception
Enjoy a tour of Woodford Reserve Distillery with Leadership Florida followed by an Opening Reception where the group will have the opportunity to meet members of Leadership Kentucky.

Keeneland
Explore the Keeneland racing tradition! Beauty and world class Thoroughbreds make Keeneland racing a spectacle to behold. For more than eight decades, the best horses, owners, jockeys, and trainers have converged at Keeneland each April and October to compete in "racing as it was meant to be."
This will be a true "but for" Leadership Florida experience. The group will be in a private room located on the finish line. Lunch will be provided.

Churchill Downs & Distillery Tour
The group will encounter Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby Museum, and more. The day will end with an afternoon tour at the famous Buffalo Trace Distillery.
We will have a great lunch at Claudia Sanders Dinner House.

Kentucky Horse Park & Distillery Tour
The day will begin with another fabulous horse experience. Following lunch, the group will tour Maker's Mark Distillery.
Lunch will be on your own. We will enjoy a group dinner on our last evening at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse.

For registration cancellations on or before December 1, 2025, Leadership Florida will provide a full registration refund, less a $250 cancellation fee per person. No refunds will be issued after December 1, 2025.
