Biography
Ernie works at the nation’s sixth-largest school district, where he oversees a workforce of more than 25,000 employees and leads districtwide human capital strategy, labor relations, compensation, staffing, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
Over a distinguished 28-year career in public education, he has advanced through the ranks as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist, assistant principal, principal, principal supervisor, Chief of Staff, Chief Safety & Security Officer, and executive leader.
A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Ernie earned a Ph.D. in K–12 Educational Leadership and is recognized for his expertise in instructional leadership, workforce development, school safety, labor relations, and organizational transformation. He has successfully led large-scale district initiatives involving workforce restructuring, school improvement, emergency management, and operational modernization while maintaining a steadfast focus on student achievement and employee success.
Ernie is a respected mentor, presenter, and advocate for public education who has served on statewide safety and leadership initiatives. His leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, transparency, innovation, and building high-performing systems that create opportunities for all students and communities.
