Biography
Keisha has over 20 years of experience in education, serving as a champion for principals, teachers, and students. She has spent the last nine years at Teach For America, becoming the executive director of Jacksonville in 2019, expanding to central Florida in 2020, and finally Miami-Dade in 2021.
Keisha majored in mathematics and secondary math education at Shaw University and holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and school administration from East Carolina University. She taught high school math for seven years before being recruited to D.C. Public Schools. She served as a school turnaround instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal at John P. Sousa MS in Washington, D.C.
A respected leader in her community and across Florida, Keisha is appointed to three FLDOE committees. She believes that teachers, school leaders, and community leaders stand as a united front working to open pathways of opportunity for students.
